For over 25 years, the Diagnostic Breast Center has been
committed to providing individualized, innovative, state-of-the-art
health care to women. Our center offers treatment of the whole
woman, including breast and other female imaging services. Our
Radiologist and Technologists are closely
involved in the diagnostic exam of each patient. All patients will have the unique
opportunity to discuss the findings and further course of treatment
directly with Dr. Kubek.
Dr. Kubek will do an immediate ultrasound at the time of your
mammogram, if it is warranted. Mammography
Our
Hologic Selenia digital mammography system uses X-rays to produce pictures of the breast that
can show signs of early breast cancer. "Screening" mammography is
done when there are no breast problems and consists of two standard
views of each breast. The American Cancer Society recommends
screening mammography once a year beginning at age 40, unless there
is a strong family history of premenopausal breast cancer, in which
case screening may need to start earlier. Because cancers can
develop between mammograms or not be visible on mammography, monthly
breast self-examinations are also recommended. Please
